Absolute clear Hattrick and early title win by Ingo Gerstl. He is the overall winner of the BOSS GP Series for the third time in a row and comes as a successful defending champion to the final on the Red Bull Ring.
In the four races in Assen / NL and in Brno / CZ, Ingo Gerstl (AUT / Team TOP-SPEED, # 1) in the Toro Rosso STR1 F1 won the Open Class ahead of Phil Stratford in the Benetton F1 (USA / PENN ELCOM Racing, # 7). In the Sunday race in Brno, the Salzburg also prematurely fixed the overall victory of the BOSS GP series, his third in a row. Ingo Gerstl comes as a successful defending champion and five times overall winner (2008, 2011, 2016, 2017 and 2018) to the final race of the BOSS-GP series in the DTM on the Red Bull Ring to Spielberg in Styria.
In Formula Class, Top-Speeds Florian Schnitzenbaumer is in a good position to take the title.
It can be exciting in Formula-Class. Here, league leader Florian Schnitzenbaumer (GER / Team TOP-SPEED, # 888) has to defend his 38-point advantage over Andreas Fiedler (GER / Fiedler Racing, # 321). Bernd Herndlhofer wants to have a win in Spielberg for one or both the races in the Formula-Class. In Brno, Bernd Herndlhofer (AUT / H & A Racing, # 221) has already announced that he can be expected. He fought right from the start in the top group, only strong understeer at the end of the race prevented a better result on the Automotodrom Brno. The Team Speed-Center comes to the Red Bull Ring with three Formula cars for the BOSS-GP Final.
Speed Center team boss Markus Lehmann, whose mother comes from Knittelfeld, has Styrian roots. No wonder he always likes to come to the Aichfeld. This time he has in addition to his crew, including son Marco, three racing cars in the luggage. The two Swiss drivers, Peter Göllner (# 101) and Chris Eicke (# 555), will be fight again in the Dallara GP2 cars in the Formula-Class. Göllner has always been in favor of a podium finish in the last races and Eicke even has a theoretical chance of finishing second overall in Formula Class. Hans Laub from Lörrach / D (# 22), however, brings the Forti Formula 1 in the Open-class at the start. Once again, the pilots from Italy are very well represented. A total of seven drivers want to go to start with their Dallara GP2 cars to Spielberg in Formula-Class. First and foremost is Armando Mangini (MM International Motorsport, # 323), currently third in the Formula class and, like Chris Eicke, still has a theoretical chance to finish the BOSS-GP series in the Formula class as overall second.
